History

The Department of Translation and Interpretation was founded on 08.06.2006 under the body of Trakya University School of Foreign Languages. The Division of English Translation and Interpretation and German Translation and Interpretation started education in the 2006-2007 Academic Year. The Division of Bulgarian Translation and Interpretation started education in 2007-2008 Academic Year. On February 07^th, 2008, our department in the School of Foreign Languages were transferred to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences according to the decision of Higher Education Council. Following the closure of the Faculty of Arts and Science and the foundation of the Faculty of the Letters, our department became a part of Faculty of Letters. The Department of Translation and Interpretation includes three divisions as the Division of German Translation and Interpretation, the Division of Bulgarian Translation and Interpretation and the Division of English Translation and Interpretation.
